The website in question deals with architectural works or architectural information in general. It contains five general sections: works, images, products & BIM, folders and news. Each one is subdivided into many specific topics that encourage the search for specific things related to architecture such as plans, works already carried out or even projects that have not yet been carried out. I usually use this platform when I need to do my homework and it is useful for any class, since as I mentioned before it has all kinds of information, it is like Pinterest but for architects. It is for this very reason that I like to use it since it is comfortable and easy to occupy, it serves to inspire me when carrying out a workshop project, or when I need plans to understand the morphology class since it offers all kinds of these: plants, sections , elevations and even structural drawings. It's basically like an online architecture encyclopedia haha. I recommend it, it has such interesting things that it even serves to have fun for a while, outside the academic or work environment. :D

My career as a possibility to turn the word into a better place

The architecture career itself is the desing and building of the citys, so within the parameters that society contemplates and de diferent cultures that contain this. This is the reason that my career, being linked with people and their homes, look for an improvement in the way people relate to space. In this way, improving that make up the living space (such us acustic confort, lighting, hygrothermal, thermal, temperature, among others) it can improve the quality of life of the people. 

As a future architect, I see myself building houses that provide this features, regardless of the  socioeconomic level of the people, thus generating an equality of basic resources for all. This in the long run can reduce the social diferencies by having decent and pleasant homes, such us improving the queality of mediasaguas.

Reading comprehension 

I think that my favorite three places of this top are Great Wall of China, Lascaux and Angkor Wat, because they are created by the human since a lot of time.

The first one, the Great Wall of China impress me for the magnitude that it has. I cant belive thats is posible, literally its has more than 2.000 years ago, in this epoque doesnt exist that technology for building this edification.

The second one, I thinks that the drawing of Lascaux its so interesting, because they are telling us how was the past and the history of this place and their animals.

The last one, Angkor Wat, I think thats surpriced me for the dame reason of the case of Great Wall of China, I cant belive that they are build for humans that they havent the instruments that we have in this epoque. 

My favorite photo

I took this photo about three years ago, I was in the garden with my mom and my othe dogs. My dog, the one thats appears in the photo, was called Pitu, she was about 11 years old and she was very "pachoncita". Sadly, she died a years ago because she was very old. All the photos f her make me remember her and want to be there at that time. Nevertheless, this is the one I like the most because it shows how se was with us, she was always there to receive and give us love. Whenever she saw that one of us was sad or crying, she always came over and snuggled into one. The photo I took of my mom and my Pitu shows that unique connection between them, the summer afternoons lying in the sun or when I took her to my room in winter to sleep with her (she snored and used my entire bed hahaha). This photo makes me feel her absence. I´m happy to have had her in our family.

My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is without a doubt my phone, because you can really do everything from a small device: watch a movie, talk to friends or family, schedule things on the digital calendar, play a game, search for something on the internet without having to go in person to a specific place, among many other things. I always carry it with me but I use it more in my leisure time since I am doing my things and I am busy. I use it to talk to my family and to see Instagram or TikTok. I think that the use of the telephone is also bad because instead of enjoying what is happening around me, I end up locking myself in my social networks, moving away from my physical place.

In any case, I still recommend using it since more than bad things, it brings good things. For example, if you have a problem, it is the phone that helps you call the emergency room or someone. The phone connects people.

 

Why did you choose this career/study programme?

When I was a kid, I didn´t know what to study but I was always interested in the subject of making spaces. When I´m in 4th grade in the school I wanted to study odonthology because I like to make things with my hand and I thougt it was a good idea, but whit the passage of time I realized that it wasn´t what I really wanted, so I decided to study architecture and I´m so happy now :D.

My experience at the university has been very good, the classes has been very interesting and the teachers very nice and I have meet many friends. I think the type of job that I would like is the architecture with a specialty in landscaping or architecure in innovation and thecnology or something like that.

 

Who am I?

Hello, my name is Camila Blanco and I´m 20 years old. I like to sleep, listen to music alternative, go out with my Friends and meet people, but also i like stay in my house with my family. I used to live with my parents and my younger siblings, besides my three dogs, in Santo Domingo, but now i live in Ñuñoa (Santiago) because now I´m going to study architecture at the Universidad de Chile. Sometimes I feel bad because I miss them so much ☹, we used to eat sushi together every friday night, but now I only see them some weekends, when I don´t have homework or test. Even so we talk every day to know how we are.
